BLAST

BLAST, short for “Ballroom Latin and Swing Team”, is an organization of dancers at Northwestern University dedicated to sharing the love of partner dancing with the Northwestern community, Evanston community members, and anyone who has been bitten by the dancing bug! Specializing in dances such as waltz, viennese waltz, tango, foxtrot, quickstep, rumba, cha cha, samba, jive, swing, salsa, mambo, paso doble, BLAST offers a wide range of dance instruction which allows dancers of any level to pursue many options of their liking at a VERY affordable price.

Aside from shows, competitions, and classes, BLAST is very much a social group. When we’re not rehearsing for an upcoming performance or competition, we’re having out together at social dance, parties, dance clubs, movie theaters, each other’s houses for dinner, and wherever we find ourselves! Dancing is what brings us together. We’ll dance anywhere, whether it be at a restaurant, an airport, a parking lot, the supermarket, or even a hallway outside class!

Our goals are:

· To teach people to dance

· To let people show off what they’ve learned

· To have a heck of a lot of fun
