COMPETITOR RULES
LEVEL ELIGIBILITY
You may enter up to two consecutive levels with a single partner in each style. You may dance up to three consecutive levels with two or three partners in each style.
The 4 styles are:
American Smooth, International Standard, American Rhythm, and International Latin
The progression of levels is:
A Newcomer (Both partners must have started dancing after August 1, 2009. Only Bronze steps allowed)
B Bronze 1 (Only Bronze Steps allowed)*
C Bronze 2 (Only Bronze Steps allowed)*
D Silver (Bronze and Silver Steps Allowed)
E Gold (Any Syllabus Steps Allowed)
F Open (Choreographed Routines, any Syllabus or otherwise)
*Bronze 1 and Bronze 2
We are offering two levels of bronze so that:
– Lady competitors from schools with a shortage of leads will be able to dance at an appropriate level
– More people will win ribbons
– There are more chances to dance!
If you have been making bronze finals and semi-finals this year, please DO NOT register for Bronze 1 with your regular partner, give someone else a chance to win. You are still welcome to enter Bronze 2, and encouraged to try Silver. If you would like help finding a partner, or would be willing to partner someone from another school, please email blastcomp@gmail.com.

We will also offer a smattering of fun dances such as Salsa, Argentine Tango, Hustle, Same Sex Rumba, and Reverse-Lead Cha Cha. Audience members are welcome to join in on the Fun Dance Competition. Additionally, don’t forget to get your team riled up for the International Style and American Style team-matches!
